How long do disability appeals take?
The Initial Determination takes 2-4 months and 65% are denied.
The Reconsideration takes 2-3 months and 85% are denied.
The Hearing with an Administrative Law Judge takes a year or more and 55%
succeed. If you have an attorney you are more likely to win. And it is your
best chance to gain your benefits. If you appeal after this point your Appeals
Council review can take another year and there is a possible appeal to the
Federal Court.
Should I apply for
